Help Save the Post Office!

Vote-by-Mail Depends on It!

This Wednesday, January 19!

Indivisible Illinois’ Vote-by-Mail Taskforce is hosting Porter McConnell, co-founder of the Save the Post Office Coalition, and U.S. Representative  Mike Quigley (DIL 5th District), who is actively involved in efforts to save the USPS, at this Wednesday’s 7:30 pm statewide Indivisible Illinois meetingThey will discuss the crisis within the US Postal Service. At the meeting, we’ll also have suggestions for actions to take to Save Our Post Office.

Since being appointed Postmaster General in 2020, Louis DeJoy has eliminated 64 million postal work hours and removed thousands of sorting machines and mail boxes. As a result, in Illinois, residents in places as different as Chicago and Danville sometimes receive mail only once or twice a week, yet thousands of Illinoisans rely on the Post Office for vote-by-mail and to receive vital medicine, checks, bills, etc. Just last week, there was more bad news concerning the future of the post office.

Vote-by-mail has been proven to increase voter participation, especially among low-turnout voters. If the Post Office fails, so does vote-by-mail! If you get mail, you won’t want to miss this meeting!
