About Indivisible Illinois
Indivisible Illinois is part of the locally-led, people-powered Indivisible Project network, a grassroots American movement founded in 2016, with thousands of chapters across the U.S. in urban, suburban and rural communities. Indivisible Illinois reflects the Heart of the Midwest by promoting an equity agenda in pursuit of liberty and justice for all.
Our grassroots power comes from working in solidarity and in coalition with others. We do this through advocacy and direct action organizing for progressive issues and by electing progressive leaders.
Inclusion, Respect and Nonviolence.
Inclusion: We encourage the positive recognition of differences, regardless of identity, background, or political party. We not only include those from diverse backgrounds, we seek out their participation and welcome their voices.
Respect: We promote an environment of tolerance and fairness. We find common ground, honor good intentions, lift each other up, and work together to allow space for dissent while pursuing a shared goal. Ideas are welcomed and group participation in decision making is essential.
Nonviolence: We channel our immense passion and fierce drive into constructive actions, respecting personal safety and property.
Programs and Projects
Group Leader Networking and Coordination
Group Leaders meet regularly to coordinate around urgent and long term issue and electoral campaigns. Indivisible Group Leaders Sign Up Here.
Our campaigns are driven by our antiracist values and fueled by the global movement towards achieving social, economic and racial justice for all. Learn more here.
These conferences augment Indivisible National’s regular group calls. In these one-hour meetings with group leaders across the state, we celebrate our successes, plan collective actions and share community organizing best practices. Guest speakers include but not limited to representatives from Indivisible National as well as issue advocates such as Protect Our Care Illinois, Planned Parenthood Illinois, Citizen Action Illinois, SEIU HCIIMK and many others. To learn more about our statewide networking calls or to coordinate with us, contact a volunteer state co-coordinator: LENI MANAA-HOPPENWORTH at email@example.com, SCOTT CROSS at firstname.lastname@example.org or ROSE COLACINO at email@example.com
ILVOTE is the voter registration and voter engagement branch of Indivisible Illinois and is recognized as a bona fide state civic organization in the state of Illinois. The purpose of ILVOTE is to increase voter awareness, voter registration and voter turnout for every election at the federal, state and local levels. We offer an opportunity for members to become deputy voter registrars through their election authority in their jurisdiction. Read more about ILVOTE here or contact LENI MANAA- HOPPENWORTH firstname.lastname@example.org
Vote by Mail Task Force
Sign up to phone bank, lobby, write letters to the editor and advocate with Indivisible Illinois in support of expanding access to voting. Federally, we advocate for passage of the Freedom to Vote Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Act. In Illinois, we ask election officials and Illinois State Board of Elections to remove any barriers to receiving, tracking, and returning an absentee ballot. Contact ROSE COLACINO email@example.com or sign up here.
